We are pleased to announce the availability of two new series of connector backshells: LMA79 Series Heat Shrink Boot backshells and LMA69 Series Cable Clamp backshells. Both series are manufactured in-house and in accordance with AS85049/M85049 specifications, which are considered to be the industry standard for connector accessories.
The LMA 69H1 backshells are designed to deliver secure strain relief for cables through an adjustable cable clamp. These backshells are compatible with MIL-DTL-38999 Series III (Souriau 8D Series) connectors with rear accessory threads and can be specified with matching plating finishes. Unlike cast alternatives, the LMA69 backshells are precision-machined from solid material, offering superior strength and long-term reliability in demanding applications.
While the connector interface includes an O-ring seal, this backshell series does not provide additional environmental sealing for the connector or cable. It is intended for use without heat shrink boots at the connector-to-cable transition. For applications requiring EMC screen termination, the LMA19 Series is recommended. For a compact, ultra-low-profile solution, consider the LMA67 Series, and for heat shrink boot compatibility, the LMA79 Series is the appropriate choice.

The LMA79 Series backshells are engineered for secure installation of heat shrink boots over the connector-to-cable transition. They are compatible with MIL-DTL-38999 Series III and IV (Souriau 8D Series) as well as MIL-DTL-26482 Series I (LMH Series) connectors, and are available in various configurations and finishes to match your connector requirements.
These backshells include an O-ring at the connector interface for a tight seal, while a properly fitted lipped heat shrink boot—secured in a dedicated groove—adds further mechanical and environmental protection. This combination guards against cable damage from bending or tension and prevents ingress of water and contaminants.
The two-part spin-coupling design allows for convenient disassembly during repairs, without the need to remove the heat shrink boot. Note that this series does not support EMC screen termination; for that functionality, refer to the LMA19 Series. If an ultra-low-profile backshell is needed, consider the LMA67 Series.
